The Webinar: Its Background

In pursuance of the society’s aim to promote intellectual dialogue on important areas of international law, ILPS is pleased to organize its second webinar on the topic – “Most Favored Nations Clauses in Bilateral Investment Treaties”

Most Favored Nations (MFN) clauses are common in Bilateral Investment Treaties. However, it has been a subject of varied interpretations by treaty-based arbitral tribunals. Through this webinar, the society aims to provide a platform to create a better understanding about MFN in Bilateral Investment Treaties.

The Speaker

Poorvi Satija, an international arbitration lawyer, is an associate at White & Case LLP. She mainly deals with international commercial and investment arbitration cases.

She has been involved as a coach and arbitrator in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition for years. Since 2017, she has also been coaching teams for the IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna Mediation and Negotiation Competition.

Ms Poorvi graduated with a BA LLB degree from NALSAR University, Hyderabad in 2013 and pursued LLM in Dispute Resolution from Harvard Law School.
